LOOKING THROUGH THE GLASS

Ardan Özmenoğlu

Ardan Özmenoğlu’s art centers around interpersonal relationships, blending the lines between humor and provocation to explore the complexities of modern life in a way that resonates deeply with the audience.

Her approach seeks to draw viewers into her world, creating a connection between her experiences and theirs. She poses significant questions with her art but aims for straightforward answers, resulting in pieces that are both complex and accessible. The meanings of her works are not concealed but vary with each viewer’s perspective, often transforming culturally specific symbols or idioms into universally understandable forms.

To create her works, the artist isolates herself from the outside world, spending extensive time in her studio, the neon glass studio, or the wood workshop. This isolation allows her to capture the essence of the external world, as she retreats to process and produce, and only emerge once her artistic vision is fully realized.

Ardan Özmenoğlu’s “Looking through the Glass” promises to be a thought-provoking and engaging exhibition, inviting visitors to explore the intricate dynamics of human relationships and everyday life. The e xhibition is currently on display until July 28th at Anna Laudel Bodrum.
